Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups shredded cooked chicken (about 300g), rotisserie or leftover
  • 8 oz (225g) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) sour cream
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) buffalo wing sauce (e.g., Frank’s RedHot)
  • 1/2 cup (75g) blue cheese crumbles
  • 1 cup (100g) shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • Optional garnish: chopped green onions or parsley

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Let the cream cheese sit at room temperature for about 20 minutes to soften.
  3. In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with sour cream until smooth and creamy.
  4. Stir in garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper until evenly distributed.
  5. Pour in buffalo wing sauce and mix until fully combined and uniformly orange.
  6. Gently fold in shredded cooked chicken using a spatula.
  7. Stir in shredded cheddar cheese, reserving a handful for topping.
  8. Spread the mixture evenly in an 8×8 inch (20×20 cm) baking dish.
  9. Sprinkle blue cheese crumbles and reserved cheddar cheese evenly over the top.
  10. Bake for 20-25 minutes until edges are bubbly and top is lightly golden.
  11. Let cool for 5 minutes, then garnish with chopped green onions or parsley if desired.
  12. Serve warm with celery sticks, tortilla chips, or crackers.

Notes

If the dip is too thick before baking, add a tablespoon of milk or extra sour cream to loosen it. Adjust buffalo sauce to control heat level. Let dip rest a few minutes after baking for easier scooping. Can be made ahead and baked just before serving. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
