These Easy Crockpot Cranberry Meatballs with Chili Sauce are the kind of recipe that makes you look like a hero with almost zero effort. With just five ingredients and a few minutes of prep, you can create something that tastes like you’ve been slaving away in the kitchen all day.

Ingredients

  • Frozen Homestyle Meatballs (32 ounces)
  • Chili Sauce (12 ounces)
  • Whole Berry Cranberry Sauce (14 ounces)
  • Brown Sugar (1/4 cup, packed)
  • Lemon Juice (1 tablespoon)

Instructions

  1. Make the sauce. In a medium mixing bowl, combine the can of whole berry cranberry sauce, the bottle of chili sauce, the packed brown sugar, and the lemon juice. Whisk until everything is well combined and the cranberry sauce has broken down into smaller pieces.
  2. Add the meatballs to the crockpot. Place the frozen meatballs directly into your crockpot. No need to thaw them first. Spread them out in an even layer.
  3. Pour the sauce over the meatballs. Pour the sauce mixture evenly over the frozen meatballs. Use a spatula to scrape every last bit out of the bowl. Then, gently stir to coat all the meatballs with the sauce.
  4. Cook on low for 4-5 hours or high for 2-3 hours. Cover the crockpot with the lid and set it to your desired cooking time. About halfway through, give them a gentle stir to redistribute the sauce.
  5. Check for doneness. The meatballs are ready when they’re heated through and the sauce has thickened slightly. If you have an instant-read thermometer, the internal temperature should be at least 165°F.
  6. Serve directly from the crockpot. Switch the setting to ‘warm’ and let guests help themselves. Provide toothpicks or small forks for easy grabbing. If serving as a main dish, spoon the meatballs and sauce over rice or mashed potatoes.

Notes

For a thicker sauce, leave the lid off for 15-20 minutes while the crockpot is on warm. These meatballs taste even better the next day as flavors meld. Optional additions: red pepper flakes, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, or minced garlic.
