Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cans (14.5 oz each) cut green beans, drained
  • 2 cans (10.5 oz each) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 cups French’s crispy fried onions, divided

Instructions

  1. Drain the green beans thoroughly in a colander for at least 5 minutes.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine cream of mushroom soup, milk, soy sauce, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Whisk until smooth.
  3. Add the drained green beans and 1 cup of crispy fried onions to the bowl. Stir gently until evenly coated.
  4. Spray the inside of a 4-quart or larger slow cooker with nonstick cooking spray. Transfer the green bean mixture to the slow cooker and spread into an even layer.
  5. Cook on low for 3 to 4 hours, until hot and bubbly around the edges.
  6. About 15 minutes before serving, sprinkle the remaining 1 cup of crispy fried onions evenly over the top. Do not stir. Cover and cook for the final 15 minutes.
  7. Serve immediately, making sure each portion gets some of the crispy onions on top.

Notes

For best results, drain canned green beans well to avoid watery casserole. Do not cook on high. Add the second cup of fried onions only at the end to maintain crunch. Leftovers keep in the refrigerator for up to 4 days and can be frozen for up to 3 months.
