Quick and easy Halloween popcorn balls made with marshmallows, butter, and candy corn. Perfect for last-minute party treats, these nostalgic snacks are a crowd-pleaser that disappear in minutes.

  • 10 cups popped popcorn (about 1/2 cup unpopped kernels or one standard bag of microwave popcorn)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick)
  • 1 (10 oz) bag marshmallows (about 4 cups)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup candy corn
  • Non-stick cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Pop your popcorn and remove any unpopped kernels. Place the popped popcorn in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Line a large baking sheet or counter with parchment paper and spray lightly with non-stick cooking spray.
  3. In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat.
  4. Add the marshmallows to the melted butter and stir constantly until completely melted and smooth, about 4-5 minutes.
  5. Remove the pot from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and salt.
  6. Immediately pour the marshmallow mixture over the popcorn and fold gently until every kernel is coated, about 1-2 minutes.
  7. Sprinkle the candy corn over the coated popcorn and fold gently to distribute, leaving some visible on the surface.
  8. Spray your hands generously with non-stick cooking spray. Grab handfuls of the mixture (about tennis ball size) and squeeze gently but firmly into balls. Place on prepared parchment paper. Repeat until all mixture is used (about 12-14 balls).
  9. Let the popcorn balls cool and set at room temperature for 15-20 minutes before serving.

Notes

Work quickly once the marshmallow mixture is ready. Keep hands oiled with cooking spray to prevent sticking. If mixture cools too quickly, microwave for 10-15 seconds to warm. Press extra candy corn onto the outside of each ball for a festive look. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. Do not refrigerate.
