A quick and easy snack featuring turkey slices and cheese rolled up and served with a creamy ranch dip. Perfect for busy afternoons, casual gatherings, or light meals.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces (225 grams) thinly sliced deli turkey (preferably nitrate-free)
  • 68 slices of cheese (cheddar, Swiss, or provolone; sharp cheddar recommended)
  • ½ cup (120 ml) creamy ranch dressing (store-bought or homemade)
  • Optional add-ins: fresh spinach leaves, thinly sliced cucumbers or bell peppers, sprinkle of black pepper or smoked paprika
  • Optional: soft tortilla wraps or large lettuce leaves for wrapping
  • Optional: butter or olive oil for warming

Instructions

  1. Lay out 8 ounces of turkey slices and 6-8 slices of cheese on a clean surface. Wash and thinly slice any optional veggies like cucumbers or bell peppers if using.
  2. Place one slice of turkey flat on your work surface. Add a slice of cheese on top. Add spinach or veggies if desired.
  3. Roll the turkey and cheese slice tightly into a neat cylinder, being careful not to squeeze out the filling.
  4. Optional warming: Heat a skillet over medium-low heat, lightly butter or oil the pan, and warm the roll-ups about 1 minute per side until cheese starts to melt. Alternatively, microwave for 15-20 seconds.
  5. Prepare the creamy ranch dip: if store-bought, pour into a small bowl. For homemade, whisk together ½ cup mayonnaise, ¼ cup sour cream, 1 teaspoon dried parsley, ½ teaspoon garlic powder, ½ teaspoon onion powder, and salt & pepper to taste. Chill if possible.
  6. Arrange roll-ups on a plate with the creamy ranch dip on the side. Garnish with smoked paprika or fresh herbs if desired.

Notes

Use thinly sliced turkey for easier rolling. Keep cheese cold until rolling to prevent premature melting. When warming, use low heat to avoid toughening turkey or separating cheese. Serve roll-ups soon after assembling for best texture. Slice diagonally for better presentation. Homemade ranch dip can be adjusted with buttermilk or milk for creaminess and a pinch of sugar to balance acidity.
