A quick and easy summer dessert combining melty chocolate, toasted marshmallows, and fresh berries grilled in foil packets for a mess-free, delicious treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Graham crackers, broken into small squares
  • 810 regular size marshmallows per packet
  • Milk or dark chocolate bars, broken into chunks
  • Fresh berries (strawberries sliced, blueberries, raspberries)
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, cut into small pats
  • Optional: pinch of cinnamon or a dash of vanilla extract
  • Heavy-duty aluminum foil sheets

Instructions

  1. Wash and slice strawberries; rinse blueberries and raspberries. Break graham crackers and chocolate bars into bite-sized pieces.
  2. In a small bowl, gently toss the berries with the butter and, if using, a pinch of cinnamon or a teaspoon of vanilla extract.
  3. Tear off a 12×12 inch piece of heavy-duty foil. Place a layer of graham crackers in the center, then add a few chocolate chunks, marshmallows, and a spoonful of the berry mixture. Top with another layer of graham crackers.
  4. Fold the foil over the ingredients and crimp the edges tightly to prevent leaks. Double wrap if desired.
  5. Place packets on medium heat grill or over campfire embers. Cook for about 10-12 minutes, turning once halfway through to toast evenly.
  6. Use tongs to remove packets. Let cool for a minute before peeling foil back. Serve warm, ideally with an extra handful of fresh berries on the side.

Notes

If marshmallows brown too fast, move packets to a cooler spot on the grill. Let packets rest for a minute after cooking before opening to avoid hot steam burns. Frozen berries can be used if fresh are unavailable; thaw slightly before use. For dairy-free, use coconut-based chocolate and vegan marshmallows. Oven broiler can be used as an alternative cooking method at 375°F for 12-15 minutes.
