A fun and easy loaded nacho board shaped like a football, perfect for game day or a lazy Sunday. Made with seasoned ground beef, melted cheese, and all your favorite toppings, this shareable meal comes together in about 20 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 pound ground beef (80/20 works best)
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 4 cups tortilla chips (restaurant-style or scoop chips)
  • 1 cup shredded Mexican blend cheese (or cheddar)
  • 1/2 cup black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1/4 cup pickled jalapeños
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup salsa (mild or medium)
  • 1/4 cup diced tomatoes (fresh or canned, drained)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1/4 cup sliced black olives (optional)
  • 1 avocado, sliced or diced
  • 1 lime, cut into wedges

Instructions

  1. Cook the ground beef: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and break it apart with a spatula. Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until browned and no longer pink. Drain off excess fat, leaving a tiny bit for flavor.
  2. Season the beef: Reduce heat to medium. Add chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and 2 tablespoons water. Stir and let simmer for 2 minutes until spices are fragrant.
  3. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  4. Assemble the board: Arrange tortilla chips in a football shape on a cutting board or baking sheet, leaving space in the center for beef. Keep chips in a single layer.
  5. Add toppings: Sprinkle seasoned ground beef evenly over chips, followed by black beans, pickled jalapeños, and shredded cheese.
  6. Melt the cheese: Place the board (if oven-safe) or baking sheet in the oven for 5-7 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly. If using a wooden board, transfer chips to a baking sheet first.
  7. Add cold toppings: Remove from oven. Immediately add diced tomatoes, sliced avocado, black olives, dollops of sour cream and salsa. Sprinkle with fresh cilantro and squeeze lime wedges over the top.
  8. Serve immediately: Place board in the center of the table. Enjoy with forks or hands.

Notes

Add cold toppings after melting cheese to keep chips crunchy. Use scoop-shaped chips for best results. Shred your own cheese for smoother melting. Leftover beef can be stored separately for 2-3 days.
