A quick and easy frozen margarita pitcher made with fresh lime juice, tequila, and simple ingredients for a crisp, refreshing cocktail perfect for parties or relaxing evenings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups (480 ml) Tequila Blanco
  • 1 cup (240 ml) Fresh lime juice (about 68 medium limes)
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) Triple Sec or orange liqueur
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) Simple syrup
  • About 6 cups (approx. 900 grams) ice cubes
  • Coarse salt for rimming glasses (optional)
  • Lime wedges for garnish

Instructions

  1. Juice about 6 to 8 medium limes to get 1 cup (240 ml) of fresh lime juice, removing any seeds.
  2. Prepare simple syrup by combining equal parts sugar and water in a small saucepan, heating gently until sugar dissolves, then cool completely.
  3. Pour 2 cups (480 ml) tequila, 1/2 cup (120 ml) triple sec, 1 cup (240 ml) fresh lime juice, and 1/2 cup (120 ml) simple syrup into a blender.
  4. Add approximately 6 cups (about 900 grams) of ice cubes to the blender. Use crushed ice for a slushier texture if desired.
  5. Pulse and blend for 30-45 seconds until smooth with a frozen, slushy consistency. Add more ice and blend again if too runny.
  6. Optional: Rub a lime wedge around the rims of serving glasses and dip into coarse salt.
  7. Pour the margarita mixture into prepared glasses and garnish with lime wedges.

Notes

Use fresh lime juice for best flavor; bottled lime juice is less vibrant. Pulse blend first to break up ice, then blend steadily for smooth texture. Chill glasses before serving for extra refreshment. Adjust sweetness with simple syrup to taste. For less alcohol, reduce tequila and triple sec by half and increase lime juice and simple syrup accordingly.
