A simple, refreshing summer punch blending fresh peach puree with sweet tea and bourbon for a smooth, flavorful drink perfect for gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 black tea bags (strong brand like Twinings or Bigelow)
  • 6 cups boiling water (1.4 liters)
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar (150 grams)
  • 3 large ripe peaches, peeled and pureed
  • 1 1/2 cups bourbon whiskey (360 ml)
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice (60 ml)
  • 2 cups cold water (475 ml)
  • Ice cubes
  • Peach slices and fresh mint for garnish

Instructions

  1. Bring 6 cups (1.4 liters) of water to a boil. Pour over 6 black tea bags in a heatproof pitcher. Let steep for 8–10 minutes until strong and dark. Remove tea bags, squeezing gently to extract flavor.
  2. While the tea is still warm, stir in 3/4 cup (150 grams) sugar until fully dissolved. Adjust sweetness to taste.
  3. Peel and pit 3 large ripe peaches. Puree in a blender or food processor until smooth. Optionally strain through a fine mesh sieve for a silky texture.
  4. Stir the peach puree into the sweetened tea. Add 1 1/2 cups (360 ml) bourbon whiskey and 1/4 cup (60 ml) fresh lemon juice. Pour in 2 cups (475 ml) cold water to mellow the flavors.
  5. Refrigerate the punch for at least 1 hour. When ready, add plenty of ice cubes and garnish with peach slices and fresh mint sprigs. Serve chilled.

Notes

Do not over-steep tea to avoid bitterness. Use ripe peaches for best flavor. Adjust bourbon and sugar to taste. For a mocktail, omit bourbon and add extra cold water or peach soda. Can prepare up to 24 hours ahead and refrigerate.
