A low-effort, high-reward charcuterie board for two, perfect for date night. No cooking required, fully customizable, and designed to help you focus on each other instead of the kitchen.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 oz aged gouda or cheddar
  • 4 oz brie or camembert
  • 4 oz goat cheese or blue cheese
  • 4 oz prosciutto
  • 4 oz salami or soppressata
  • 4 oz capicola or speck (optional)
  • 1/4 cup fig jam or honey
  • 1/4 cup mixed olives (kalamata or castelvetrano)
  • 1/4 cup almonds or walnuts
  • 1/4 cup dried apricots or figs
  • Fresh grapes or sliced apple
  • 1 small baguette, sliced and toasted, or a handful of crackers
  • Fresh herbs (rosemary or thyme sprigs for garnish, optional)
  • Dark chocolate squares (optional)
  • Cornichons or pickled vegetables (optional)

Instructions

  1. Take your cheeses out of the fridge 20-30 minutes before serving to bring them to room temperature.
  2. Slice your baguette or arrange crackers on one side of the board.
  3. Place your cheeses on the board first, spacing them out for visual balance. Slice hard cheese into thin wedges or cubes; leave soft cheese whole or cut into large chunks.
  4. Add your meats next. Fold prosciutto into loose ribbons or roll into rosettes. Arrange salami slices in overlapping rows or fan them out.
  5. Fill in with accompaniments: spoon fig jam or honey into a small bowl, add olives, nuts, dried fruit, and fresh fruit in small clusters around the cheeses and meats.
  6. Add fresh herbs or edible flowers for garnish.
  7. Finish with optional extras like dark chocolate or cornichons, placing them in small piles at the edges.
  8. Serve immediately with small plates, napkins, and wine glasses.

Notes

For best flavor, serve cheeses at room temperature. Take them out of the fridge 20-30 minutes ahead. Ask your deli counter to slice meats thinly for easier folding. The board can be prepped up to 24 hours in advance; arrange just before serving.
