Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup buffalo hot sauce (e.g., Frank’s RedHot Original)
  • ½ cup ranch dressing
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, divided
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ cup sour cream
  • 3 to 4 green onions, sliced

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9-inch pie plate or small baking dish with non-stick spray or butter.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, buffalo hot sauce, and ranch dressing. Stir until smooth and well combined.
  3. Add the shredded chicken and ½ cup of the shredded cheddar cheese. Stir until everything is evenly coated.
  4. Spread the dip mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  5. Sprinkle the remaining ½ cup of cheddar cheese and the ½ cup of mozzarella cheese over the top.
  6. Bake for 20 minutes, or until the dip is hot and bubbly around the edges.
  7. While the dip bakes, spoon the sour cream into a small zip-top bag. Snip off a tiny corner (about ⅛ inch).
  8. Remove the dip from the oven and let it cool for 2-3 minutes.
  9. Pipe concentric circles of sour cream starting from the center and working outward (about 4-5 circles, spaced about an inch apart). Then, using a toothpick or skewer, drag lines from the center outward through the circles to create a spider web pattern. Wipe the toothpick clean between each line.
  10. Garnish with sliced green onions. Serve immediately with tortilla chips, celery sticks, carrot sticks, or crusty bread.

Notes

Let cream cheese soften before mixing to avoid lumps. Cool dip for 2-3 minutes before adding sour cream web to prevent melting. Use a toothpick for clean web lines. For make-ahead, prepare dip base without top cheese, refrigerate up to 24 hours, then add cheese and bake (add 5-7 minutes). For a thicker dip, use less ranch dressing. For a milder version, reduce buffalo sauce to ¼ cup and increase ranch to ¾ cup.
